Salisbury Novichok Poisoning

Former Russian military intelligence officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with the military-grade nerve agent Novichok in Salisbury, England, in March 2018; both survived, but a local resident, Dawn Sturgess, later died after being exposed to discarded perfume bottle containing the agent. The UK Crown Prosecution Service charged three named Russian GRU military intelligence officers with the attack, and the OPCW (the international chemical weapons watchdog) independently confirmed Novichok was used — a chemical weapon whose production and stockpiling only a state actor is capable of.
