This is the record, not the resistance-movement branding.
- [October 7: What Happened, What the UN Found, and What Remains Disputed](https://mapofpolitics.com/analysis/october-7-what-happened-what-un-found-what-remains-disputed): On October 7, 2023, Hamas-led fighters killed around 1,200 people in Israel and took 251 hostages into Gaza. Two separate UN investigations later found reasonable grounds for sexual violence at multiple sites and against hostages — while also stating plainly where they could not verify every claim. He Killed It So He Could Run Against It.](https://mapofpolitics.com/analysis/trump-killed-border-deal-2024-campaign-issue): In early 2024, Senate Republican leadership handpicked one of its most conservative members, James Lankford, to negotiate a border security deal with the Biden administration — and got most of what Republicans had spent two years demanding. Donald Trump, not yet back in office, told Republicans to kill it anyway, because a secured border would have taken away the central issue of his campaign. The bill failed 49–50. Even Lankford said the quiet part out loud: a chaotic border was more useful to Trump than a fixed one.

- [How Successive Governments Kneecapped the BBC to Protect Murdoch](https://mapofpolitics.com/analysis/bbc-digital-restrictions-murdoch-lobbying-governments): For over two decades, UK governments have systematically restricted the BBC's ability to develop digital products and compete in online media markets. The lobbying driving these restrictions has consistently come from Rupert Murdoch's News Corp and commercial broadcasters.
