Mariupol Maternity Hospital Bombed
Russian aircraft bombed Maternity Hospital No. 3 in Mariupol on 9 March 2022, killing at least four people, injuring at least sixteen, and causing at least one stillbirth. AP journalists on the ground — later the subject of the Oscar-winning documentary "20 Days in Mariupol" — documented the wrecked maternity wards and a grievously wounded pregnant woman being carried from the rubble. An OSCE investigation in April 2022 confirmed the hospital was clearly identifiable and operational as a maternity facility at the time it was struck.
