Covid PPE Contracts — £12 Billion Waste via VIP Lane

The government created a fast-track "VIP lane" for PPE contracts that gave preferential treatment to suppliers referred by Conservative politicians and donors. An estimated £12.1 billion worth of contracts were awarded to companies with political connections, many of which delivered faulty or unusable equipment, or delivered nothing at all. The High Court ruled the VIP lane unlawful.
